America Now: Celebration of Music

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Join fellow alumni for an evening of art, history and music at the National Portrait Gallery.

The evening is part of ‘America Now: Celebration of Music’, an all-day event taking place at three separate Smithsonian museums with musical performances by Rare Essence, Out of Town Blues Band, DJ Beauty and the Beats, and a special headliner to be announced on June 1. Festive food and drinks are available for purchase. Bar closes at 11:30 p.m., gallery is open to midnight.

We will meet at 5:30 pm in the entrance lobby for a curated tour of the history and architecture of the National Portrait Gallery, the 3rd oldest public building in DC, with viewings of magnificent portraits of George Washington to the Obamas. After the tour, the group is free to roam the gallery and join the music performances and festivities in the Kogod Courtyard of the gallery.
