Mid-Level Mechanical Designer/Drafter

We are looking for an inquisitive and creative Mechanical Designer/Drafter to support our project engineers and architects.
Responsibilities would include:
Providing mechanical design support for development of custom architectural hardware components.
Working with design staff to provide 2-D drafting support for architectural layout packages (we are very particular and will provide training as necessary).
2-D and 3-D drafting of part drawings used in production of hardware components.
Interfacing with manufacturing staff to bring parts, assemblies, and systems, in both prototyping and production phases, to fruition.
Prerequisite skills:
5+ years’ experience in mechanical design or engineering with either AS or BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or equivalent.
Strong Solidworks skills for 3-D component and assembly design, tolerance analysis, and 2-D shop and part drawing package creation.
Exceptional 2-D AutoCAD skills and experience in large-scale layout and design.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
A proven track record of creative problem solving, creative design solutions, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced office environment.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask between multiple workloads on multiple schedules while managing varying priorities.
Ability to work independently with external vendors and clients.
Bonus skills:
Construction project management from project inception to completion.
Mechatronics and/or hydraulic design experience.
Experience with Inventor, Rhino, Revit, or FEA packages such as Solidworks Simulation or Nastran In-CAD.
