Constance Bodurow SMArchS '91, MCP '91
Constance Bodurow, AICP, CUD, Assoc. AIA is the Founding Director of studio[Ci] LLC (studio-ci), a transdisciplinary design collaborative based in Detroit, MI USA. She brings 30 years of professional design practice, building, teaching, and research experience in cities across the globe. Constance’s award-winning design and research focuses on achieving net zero energy beyond the building; generative uses for vacancy; hybridized infrastructure networks; and an equitable public realm.
Constance and her firm have received numerous US patents and design awards – including the LafargeHolcim Sustainable Construction Award – Gold North America 2017 and Bronze Global 2018. She has published extensively and served as PI on grants from the US Department of Energy, LISC, and other funders.
In the five years prior to her election as Co-President, Constance served as MITArchA Midwest Representative, where she established productive partnerships with the MIT Club of Southeast Michigan, AMITA (Association of MIT Alumnae), and MIT’s EESN (Energy, Environment and Sustainability Network).
Constance’s pro-bono service is focused on highlighting the role of designers and design agency in achieving a sustainable future for urbanized ecosystems, and on mentoring and empowering the next generation of architects and urbanists.
