We have started a page (located in our member’s only section) dedicated to Remembering Faculty. This is a forum by which notable Course IV alumni can discuss the professors and teachers who made a huge impact upon their lives and careers. While the full text is available to members on our Infinite Connection site, some excerpts have been made available below.
November 2019: Richard Dattner '60 Remembers Richard Filipowski
“Filip would quietly walk around and look intensely at each work, occasionally commenting enigmatically, or, just as often, grunting and wordlessly walking away. We struggled to comprehend his reactions and understand his meaning. Occasionally, with sketches on any piece of paper handy, punctuated by quiet grunts, he would make a visual point which evaded verbal description.”

November 2019: William Gilchrist '77 M.Arch '82 SM '82 Remembers David Friedman
“During one semester I had the fortune to enroll in David Friedman’s class on Renaissance Architecture and very early in the semester realized that I was in for a treat. As a native New Yorker, I best surmise my passion for architecture and cities was born simply from moving around that place where individual buildings, neighborhoods, business districts, transit systems, and working harbors compete for dominance in the landscape.”
